SNCC.SA-Impala: Signature of a Pre-Financing Agreement

SNCC.SA and Impala signed this Tuesday, March 21 in Lubumbashi an agreement relating to pre-financing for advances on commercial and transport services. Dg Fabien Mutomb Kan kato affixed his signature on behalf of SNCC.SA while Ms. Maguy Bazola Hermabessiere did so for the company Impala terminals RDC SARL of which she is the Manager.

The signing ceremony took place at the Salon Vert in the presence of the Advisor to the CEO, Mr. Henri Théodore mvumvu mvanzi, the Financial Director, Mr. Baudoin Hamisi bin kabarhuza, the Deputy Commercial Director, Mr. Tshijik mwandashi, the Director of the Department studies, planning and commercial control, Mr. Emmanuel batakilwa, the director of commercial studies, Ms. Justine Mbelu and the director of the legal, insurance and litigation department, Mr. MUGULA.

On this occasion, Dg Fabien Mutomb Kan kato underlined the objectives of this pre-financing, namely to improve the condition of the track on the Kolwezi-Dilolo axis, to increase the commercial speed and the rotation of the material without forgetting the service to be rendered to mining operators present in the region and who have chosen to evacuate their production to Lobito via Dilolo. These are KAMOA, KCC and other companies that are in joint venture with Gecamines. The SNCC manager has undertaken to use this pre-financing efficiently. He urged railway workers to work harder. This will meet the expectations of the Head of State, HE Félix Antoine TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO for the revival of the railway. The DG of SNCC.SA decided to allocate this pre-financing in particular to work on the track on the Kolwezi-Dilolo axis, including the purchase of a tamping machine.

“This pre-financing will allow the SNCC, since we have 3641 km of track, and we must recognize that our track is in a state of disrepair, we have to think and find ways and means to solve this equation. And as we all know, the commercial speed today on the Kolwezi-Dilolo axis, we do not exceed 15 km / hours. And that is a big challenge.
With what we are going to do with IMPALA, with this pre-financing, we will try to intervene on this axis to improve our commercial speed, which is a very good thing, and we will obtain good turnover.

On this axis, we have several companies, we have KAMOA, we have KCC and the small companies which are in joint venture with GECAMINES. On this axis, remember, in the past we used the Lobito route; even the Zambians went through LOBITO. And what we are doing, we want to bring this route up to what the Angolans have done at home.

But we did not wait for pre-financing, this pre-financing which is an advance on transport services, on commercial services.

This is not the first time we have done this with IMPALA. We had done this in the recent past, and the SNCC paid off and paid off this debt. So now, beyond working on the track, there is in this program the purchase of a tamping machine that will really serve the Company.

As I just said, we have several companies, and the royal route for these companies is between going south, i.e. South Africa, Tanzania, the shortest route possible, where we can have a good commercial speed, it is the way of LOBITO. This is why we are meeting with IMPALA to sign this pre-financing agreement. We must seize the opportunity of this pre-financing, we must work hard so that this money is used efficiently, that this money really contributes to the recovery of the railway, at this time, we will meet the expectations of His Excellency. , the President of the Republic FELIX ANTOINE TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO ”.

For her part, the Manager of Impala expressed her joy at having signed this pre-financing agreement which allows this logistics company to support SNCC.SA not only in the rehabilitation of the track but also in the Rolling stock of way to increase the capacity of this multimodal transport company in locomotives and wagons. This makes it possible to provide an effective solution to mining operators established in Lualaba. given the saturation at the border at kasumbalesa and sakania, the Lobito route via dilolo remains the best for the evacuation of products by rail, this mode offering advantages in terms of cargo security and soon in term of fluidity and speed of traffic. Impala hopes that the SNCC.SA will work to increase the tonnage to be transported by this route from Lobito via dilolo. It is safer to have our freighters by rail.

We can also, in relation to the volume, export the maximum, she added, if we have trains that are 12 to 22 wagons, only by 32-tonne trucks which are today regulated for the need to safeguard the roads. . Ms. Maguy Bazola Hermabessiere is counting on the support of the SNCC.SA and hopes that the railway workers will all get their hands dirty so that we can achieve these tonnages which will pass through the Lobito Corridor. At the same time, it restores confidence to the miners on the railroad, knowing that the latter have lost confidence because the traffic by rail takes so long. It’s not competitive with the road. So, by giving them back this confidence, it will give a boost to SNCC.SA, and to IMPALA by extension because it is a win-win partnership, concluded the Manager of Impala.
