Replacement of Sleepers on Machipanda Main Line Completed
The process of replacing Travessas on the Machipanda Main Line over a length of 289 kilometers has been concluded.
As part of the rehabilitation work on this important line, there is now a new phase, already underway, which includes a campaign to replace rails, ballasts, heavy attack and aluminothermic welding, as described by the Director of the Machipanda Line Rehabilitation Brigade , (BRLM), Eng. Sancho Quipiço Junior.
It should be noted that the Machipanda Line rehabilitation project started in August 2021, which is a vital line for the economy of the central region of the country and Zimbabwe, considering that it connects the Port of Beira to Harare and Bulawayo.
The Machipanda Line is 318 km long and has 14 stations and 29 stops.
