Transnet Engineering Manager Arrested for Alleged Corruption

 A team of Transnet investigators and SAPS Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) officers from Gauteng and Limpopo have arrested a manager from Transnet Engineering on allegations of corruption. 

The manager was arrested following a joint operation on 2 September 2023, where a bribe of R150 000 was solicited from one of Transnet’s suppliers in exchange for Transnet assets valued at R1 million. Following the arrest, the employee appeared in court on 4 September 2023 on corruption charges and was granted bail of R5 000. 

Transnet welcomes the dedication of their Internal Investigation team as well as officers from Limpopo and Gauteng DPCI. Transnet would also like to extend its gratitude to the supplier for their cooperation and assistance.
