Transnet Engineering Manager Arrested for Alleged Corruption
A team of Transnet investigators and SAPS Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) officers from Gauteng and Limpopo have arrested a manager from Transnet Engineering on allegations of corruption.
The manager was arrested following a joint operation on 2 September 2023, where a bribe of R150 000 was solicited from one of Transnet’s suppliers in exchange for Transnet assets valued at R1 million. Following the arrest, the employee appeared in court on 4 September 2023 on corruption charges and was granted bail of R5 000.
