The Gautrain Management Agency Seeks Service Provider For Integrated Fare Management

The Gautrain Management Agency (GMA), as an entity under the Department of Roads and Transport (GDRT), has been designated by the GDRT as the implementing agent for its Smart Mobility project. This appointment aligns with GDRT’s goal to transform urban mobility in response to Gauteng’s rapidly increasing population.

In line with this role, the GMA is seeking specialised consulting services for Integrated Fare Management, to support the Smart Mobility project, a key part of the “Growing Gauteng Together Through Smart Mobility 2030” strategy. This critical initiative aims to alleviate congestion and pollution while boosting the efficiency and sustainability of both freight and passenger transport throughout the province.

Key required service highlights include:

  • Project Management: Including preparation of project documents, stakeholder engagement, template development, case study creation, knowledge management, and regular progress meetings.
  • Operations Design: Development of operational processes, procedures, team structures, role definitions, and job descriptions to optimize operations within the Transport Management Centre (TMC).
  • Mobility as a Service (MaaS): Enhancing the current business case, preparing technical specifications, reviewing business rules, designing the MaaS platform, defining product development lifecycle, and updating stakeholders.
  • Communications and Marketing: Crafting and executing marketing and communications strategies for TMC services and the integrated ticketing system.
  • Data Management: Establishing data sharing agreements, onboarding new data sources, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Strategy and Operations: Developing change management processes for the transition to cashless systems, optimizing and identifying commercial opportunities for the TMC, and ensuring its sustainability.
  • Governance and Compliance: Advising on governance structures, ensuring compliance with laws and standards, aligning TMC and ABT operations with ISO 9000 standards, and facilitating regular updates to stakeholders.
