Tanzania Railways Corporation Highlights Success of Electric Train Transportation

The Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) announced that it successfully transported over 1,000,000 passengers within four months following the launch of the electric train routes between Dar es Salaam and Dodoma in June 2024, officiated by His Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the history of railway transportation in Tanzania.

The figure is double the number of passengers transported by the old train, which carried a total of 400,000 passengers in an entire year.

TRC acknowledged the importance of this modern service in enhancing transportation, increasing business efficiency, and providing a fast and safe option for passengers.

TRC expressed its gratitude to passengers for supporting efforts to improve electric transport.

During this period of success, TRC assured passengers that it would continue to provide the best possible service. Plans are underway to expand services and improve infrastructure to meet customer needs.
