Somalia and Tanzania Deepen Bilateral Ties with Focus on Connectivity and Trade Facilitation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held a bilateral meeting in Dar es Salaam with his Tanzanian counterpart, Hon. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation. The engagement brought together ministers and senior officials from both countries, signalling a strong commitment to advancing regional integration through enhanced cooperation.
Key areas of focus included trade facilitation, improvements in air transport, streamlined visa arrangements, and cultural exchange. The two sides agreed on the need to take practical steps to ease the movement of people and goods across borders. Emphasis was placed on improving connectivity as a foundation for broader economic and diplomatic collaboration between Somalia and Tanzania, aligning with shared objectives for mutual progress.
