SNTF Issues Tender for Diesel-Electric Locomotives
Algeria’s Société Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires (SNTF) has issued an open national and international call for tenders for the acquisition of diesel-electric locomotives, spare parts, fleet parts, specific tooling and equipment.
The tender covers a firm tranche of 85 standard-gauge diesel-electric locomotives. This includes 60 high-power locomotives for freight transport and 25 low-power locomotives for shunting operations.
A conditional tranche comprises 39 high-power standard-gauge diesel-electric locomotives for passenger transport, along with spare parts and fleet components.
The call is open to diesel-electric locomotive manufacturers that meet the stated professional, technical and financial capacity requirements.
