Nigerian Government Approves Operation and Management Concession for Hydro Power Plants and Rail Service Enhancements
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Nigeria has recently approved several initiatives aimed at enhancing the nation’s infrastructure, particularly in the railway and hydro power sectors. These developments include operation and management concessions for hydro power plants, secure e-ticketing solutions for rail services, and a device management system. Enhancements in Rail Services:
The FEC approvals also encompass secure e-ticketing solutions for the Lagos Ibadan Rail Service and the Warri-Itakpe Rail Service. The secure e-ticketing solutions will provide comprehensive control and management of ticketing systems, ensuring accurate tracking, statistical analysis, and support in the battle against cybercrime. These advancements will be executed through Public Private Partnership models and are estimated to generate substantial revenue, with a total of ₦112.8 billion from the Lagos-Ibadan project and ₦63.3 billion from the Warri-Itakpe project.
