Burundi is a landlocked country in East Africa with no possibility of access to the sea because it is surrounded by other countries including Tanzania, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. To be able to import/export goods to or from the Port of Dar es Salaam considered the closest and located more than 1600km away, Burundi currently has no other means than the road.
