Job Opportunity: Rail Project Manager – VRail
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated rail project manager with extensive mechanical/electrical engineering experience to join our team. The rail project manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing rail projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with other project managers, logistics, regulators, other engineering professionals and industry stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement, planning, design, and implementation of rail projects
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Conduct technical analyses and provide engineering expertise to ensure that project designs are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with industry regulations and standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met, and project progress is tracked and reported effectively.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve project issues, and ensure that all project stakeholders are informed and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and site supervision.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure that manufacturing/construction activities are carried out in accordance with the approved design and quality standards.
- Support the development of project proposals, including technical inputs and cost estimates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in rail or transportation project management, with a focus on procurement, logistics, and contract management.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of rail engineering design, maintenance, and operations.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and deliver presentations.
- Some form of professional engineering (PE) license is preferred.
