Itakpe-Warri Train Service Experiences Technical Issue

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Management announced a minor technical glitch on the Itakpe-Warri Train Service while en route to Warri in Delta State on the evening of Tuesday, 18 February 2025.

The issue occurred around 18:00, resulting in passengers spending the night at Ajaokuta Train Station. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, they resumed their journey, eventually arriving at Warri Station and safely reaching their final destinations.

NRC Management, Director of Operations, Mr. Akin Osinowo, expressed gratitude to the Government and officials of Kogi State for providing adequate security at the site of the incident. The security presence offered passengers reassurance and safety throughout the period until an alternative locomotive arrived in the early hours to complete the journey.

The Management also instructed the ticket concessionaire to send a bulk message to all affected passengers, offering an apology for the disruption and confirming a 100 percent refund of their ticket fares.
