Geotechnical Survey For The Commuter Rail System In The Nairobi Metropolitan Area
Geotechnical Survey for the 57km – Thika Line, Nairobi Metropolitan Area Commuter Rail System. The World Bank East Africa Transport, seeks to engage a firm possessing significant expertise and experience in conducting geotechnical surveys for railway infrastructure. The primary aim of this task is to undertake a detailed geotechnical survey to evaluate the geotechnical bearing capacity of the railway foundation, aiming to avert future issues such as land subsidence. Additionally, this survey intends to delineate the current railway foundation’s geotechnical bearing capacity to facilitate the planning of its expansion and modernisation.
The outcomes of this evaluation will guide the forthcoming feasibility study for the Commuter Rail in the Nairobi Metropolitan Area, set to be carried out by Kenya Railways and funded through the Kenya Urban Mobility Improvement Project.
