Gabon Launches Consultancy Tender for Transgabonais Railway Rehabilitation
Comprehensive Project Management Mission for the Transgabonais Project (MOEG)
Gabon has taken a significant step towards revitalising its key national railway corridor, the Transgabonais, with the launch of a call for expressions of interest for consultancy services. Backed by financing from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the initiative forms part of a wider programme to upgrade critical railway infrastructure supporting national transport and logistics.
Acting on behalf of the Gabonese Government, SETRAG—the railway operator and delegated contracting authority—is seeking a multidisciplinary consultancy to undertake a comprehensive project management role. The scope of the assignment includes overseeing works across various technical areas of the network, including infrastructure rehabilitation and structural protection, with activities spanning the full length of the railway between Owendo and Franceville.
The selected consultancy will provide resident expert support over a two-year period, with technical specialists deployed as needed throughout the project cycle. SETRAG aims to shortlist up to six candidates based on technical qualifications and relevant railway sector experience, particularly in similar operating environments.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 20 August 2025. Premium subscribers click here for more information:
