EEG and Ethio-Djibouti Railroad Share Company has Signed an MOU

The Ethio-Engineering Group(EEG), and The Ethio-Djibouti Railway Share Company (EDR) signed here today  a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) providing for cooperation to localize and manufacture  railway infrastructure and rolling stock parts  by the former. EEG, actually supplies EDR with inputs such as  metal, electrical ,electronics and plastic equipments. EEG subsidiary industries i.e Addis Machine and Spare Part Manufacturing Industry, Akaki Basic Metals Manufacturing Industry ,Metal Fabrication Industry ,Power Equipment Manufacturing Industry ,and Ethiopia Plastic Manufacturing Industries are said to be involved in the production and supply of the railway  infrastructures and parts. In short, the  understanding is believed to boost the country’s railway transport . It not only helps  resolve the shortage of spare parts ,but also save EDR’s   foreign currency expenditure for spare parts. The  understanding calls for the immediate establishment of a  Joint Technical  Task Force (JTTF).This is not to mention their role and responsibilities enshrined in it. EEG CEO, Ambassador Sulieman Dedefo and  his EDR counter part ,Dr. Abdi Zenebe inked the MOU.
