Dakar TER Phase 2 Nears Completion as SENTER General Manager Conducts Site Visit

The General Manager of SENTER, M. Cheikh Ibrahima Ndiaye, recently inspected the second phase of the Dakar Regional Express Train (TER) project, which extends from Diamniadio to Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD). With construction nearing completion, the project is set for delivery in the coming months, followed by dynamic testing to integrate Phase 2 into the operational Phase 1.

As part of the certification process, a compliance report will be compiled to ensure all safety and operational standards are met, paving the way for the issuance of the Commercial Operating Authority (AMEC) for the TER network.

During his visit, the General Manager and his team toured the full route, examining key infrastructure, including Diamniadio Station and its signalling systems, to ensure stormwater protection. He also assessed business premises along the corridor and reviewed the layout for passenger flow management at the airport terminal.

This final inspection underscores SENTER’s commitment to delivering a safe, efficient, and fully integrated railway link between Dakar and AIBD, further enhancing regional connectivity.
